"I have watched The Agency grow from a 'one-man' operation to one of the larger medical services in Arizona.
They are known for their standard of expertise in the transcription industry. I wish them
the best in their endeavor to provide education for future medical transcriptionists."
"I enjoy working with Deborah and her staff at The Agency. They have provided quality transcription
service to me for over four years. I certainly would not hesitate to recommend their service to other physicians."
"Adds Up has provided client billing services and bookkeeping for The Agency for several
years. I am happy to verify that they are a stable, growth-oriented organization."
WE NETWORK WITH OTHER MAJOR SERVICES! OUR GRADUATES ARE IN HUGE DEMAND. As you will see from the following notes, we support our students, not only while going through the A to Z program, but once they’ve completed it. You receive unlimited mentorship and support. Since we are an actual medical transcription service, we can provide you with practical information about the business aspect of MT. We offer the very best, on-going, long-term support of any other training program. 2/6/2006 Dear Deborah Thank you for your e-mail, and thanks for the very informative and stimulating workshop. I have checked out the costs of the AAMT recommended training programs, as well as two others I found on the web, and can see that your course is by far the best value. Jackie
12/20/2005 Deborah: What a pleasant surprise! Thanks so much for the calendar. I can really use it. Lauralee and I play word of the day anyhow, so now we have another word to discuss. Hope all is well with you and Jan and Carmen. I miss doing your work a lot, but I have waaaayyy tooooo much on my plate as it is. I totally love what I am doing, and InterPro has been amazing to work for. Everyone is so helpful and it amazes me that no one looks down their nose at a newbie. I was really expecting that. But, in two weeks, I will have been at this one full year. I have now surpassed my income in the law office per pay period. It's flown by. I can't believe it. And I still love it. One of the law offices in town called me up and offered me a job, and asking how much it would take for me to come to work for them. I told them a million bucks. They didn't believe me. I said believe it. NOTHING would make me go back to what I was doing. I put in long hours and work hard, but it's just so different, I can't explain it. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU ALL Elise 9/15/2005 Hi Deborah, I have a few questions for you. Now that I’m getting office manager’s calling me back to start up, is there anything special I need to say to them? I have your book with the New Client Calls so I assume I just use that. What does it mean approx. volume? Then how do I set up the payment and billing? Do I need to keep track of what patients I do and make a list of when I return them? I need more details now on exactly the next step. Thanks,
I attended a seminar with Deborah several months back and was truly impressed. At the time, however, I was going through a transcription program through [name removed]. I completed that program and was given a “Certificate of Completion”, which is useless. I was not given the support or follow up help that was promised me. Long story short…it was a ripoff. I now know I am going to have to go a different route, and am very interested in your program. I want to make sure I really understand that should I complete the program successfully, I MIGHT have the opportunity to contract with your agency, or in lieu of that, at least be given some guidance on what agencies to contact and where to go to seek possible employment. I’m not asking for a guarantee of employment, just some guidelines on where to begin once I complete the program. I don’t think I would be comfortable jumping in and trying to start my own business at first, so I would like to be able to get some experience with a company beforehand. [Name Removed] told me that there were many agencies that hire without experience, especially if I had completed their program. I have not found that to be true, and they did not give me any guidance on which agencies to contact. I’m completely in the dark, so I want to clarify that your program offers more guidance than just textbooks, tapes, and a Good Luck when I’m done. I wish I had done more research before spending my money on the other program, because now I’m having to save up again to invest in your program, which I hope to be able to do soon. Can you give me some insight? Mary Thanks you for your e-mail. It’s great to hear from you. I can sympathize with your dilemma. We receive dozens of calls weekly from former students of [name removed] and other similar programs, who are very angry. They have poured time and money into training and are unable to obtain work. This has become a common problem and I am unsure how to warn other potential students. Our program has been successful for 18 years. It includes tremendous support, not only while going through the program, but also after completion. I personally help each student, but I also have a staff in my office that has been with me for many years. So our phones are answered by “live humans” who aren’t just an impersonal answering service. Jan and Carmen are knowledgeable, too, and can always help when I’m on another line or speaking with another student. However, I attempt to offer quick, encouraging responses and like the ‘hands-on’ approach so that I can get to know students. We often hire those who have done an excellent job through our “A to Z” program. Our most recent graduate, Nona Olsen, has so much work from us that she is constantly busy and I wish we could give her more, since we are overwhelmed with transcription. I would strongly suggest that you speak with some of our former students. Nona is quite busy at this point, but you may want to e-mail her. There are many more unsolicited accolades and references available through our web site: medtranscription.com. We have hundreds of letters in our files and the web site provides only a small percentage. Best of all – and I think gives our program a definite stamp of approval – it is a curriculum at colleges! We then hire then graduates and have hired two in Wyoming through Northwest College. Our program is constantly updated and contains more transcription than any other. It has a wide variety of dictators, which is imperative. We also include a huge amount of hospital and acute care, rheumatology, surgery. We have just updated our orthopedic tape and it’s cutting edge, with many new procedures included. No other program offers this in-depth type of information. We are currently advertising on monster.com and the Arizona Republic for MTs. I have spent the past weekend (and a holiday, at that!) transcribing so that we can provide our clients with a good turnaround, and we are all overworked and we desperately need more workers. Years ago, we had at least three or four students at a time, in the Phoenix area, who were completing the course. But because of some other programs that are inadequate, but less expensive, we aren’t able to train as many as we need. So we are hoping that somehow we can let others know about it and that we need more students so that we can supply our company with excellent MTs. Best Wishes,
6/22/2005 I went up to the training class at the college last night because it was Lauralee’s certificate presentation and cake celebration. Stacy is so cool. What a sweet lady. Anyhow I also went because they had their computer guru there to speak. Stacy ordered a WAV pedal and is going to have him install it and teach us how the software works. I still haven’t figured out my software. He said he was boggled by the instructions, so he’s taking it home to mess with. It was a smart addition to the class on Stacy’s part. Just thought you would like to know, however, that the girls just mobbed me with questions about the working world. I was happy to answer them and help them. It’s been amazing, hard work, and fun. I love it. My editor told me last week that I should be getting another promo and raise soon to Level 2 because I am doing Level 2 work. That means 11 cents a line!! Yes Sireee! I’m truckin’. And I’m lucky that I fell into a really great company with great people. They have assigned me a mentor to answer questions for me. What a help she is. Also, for MT week they sent us all a bouquet of virtual roses and a $10 Blockbuster card. That was really nice. Well, I’d better get to work. I just hadn’t chatted with you in awhile and thought I’d better give you an update. Take care. And thanks for everything! I should have done this years ago! Elise 6/15/2005 I want you to know how much I enjoyed your class on Tuesday night. It was so informative and just what I needed. I also want to thank you for your e-mail regarding the course that you offer, and for the two phone calls that you made to me. I am sorry that I was not home when you called. It has been one of those days! You have made more contacts with me in just this short time than At-Home Professions has in two years! I appreciate the information you had on the At-Home Professions course. My husband has a background in medicine. He is now disabled and when At-Home Professions offered their course, I thought it would be something my husband could do at home. But he is NOT a fast typist and I am and I thought I could probably do it just as well or better. He went to the orientation and took all the notes for me, but not knowing what I know now (since attending your class) about needing an internship and mentorship, I didn’t realize all that was involved besides knowing how to type! There are five courses and I am just starting the third course. I looked to see what I was paying for each course and it is $450 a course!! I have learned a lot from these courses but I would like to step At-Home and enroll in your program instead. Especially if I can take advantage of your courtesy discount. I will be mailing my order form to you tomorrow. You are an awesome woman! I admire you for all of your accomplishments. You have given me the “shot in the arm” I needed to get my schooling done and on my way to establishing my own business. Thank you again for all your help and encouragement. Virginia May 9, 2004 Dear Ms. Burns: I am writing to you regarding a referral. I referred a friend of mine to your course. She purchased the course approximately two months ago and receiving it around April 1, 2004. Her name is Gretchen [name removed] and she lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I do not know if you still send out referral fees but I thought I would write just in case you still do. I purchased your course in August, 2001 and finished the course in June, 2002. I have been working full-time doing transcription for a group of internal medicine doctors here in Albuquerque since November, 2002. I truly enjoy this work and I especially love being able to work at home. Thank you for your time and all the help that your course has given me over the last two years. Sincerely, Kay
June 16, 2003 Dear Deborah: Hooray!!! I just passed the spelling test! It feels great to have completed the entire program. More than anything I want to thank you for your program and how it has changed my life. I know that statement may seem exaggerated but it is true. I have spent the last 15 years trying to find work that suits my strengths and provides options for the future. Little did I know when I attended your class and purchased your program 1-1/2 years ago that I had found it! Not only does medical transcription match my strength of being an independent worker, my love of research and typing, and my interest in the medical field, but allows me choices such as working from home or not; working for myself or someone else; working for a large or small company, large or small practice, or hospital; part-time or full-time; days or evenings; and every combination of the above. I love it! I also found work before completing the program. I was told by the Medical Transcription Manager (now, my boss) that I had one of the three highest scores of the group of people she had recently interviewed and I was hired along with two others who had 20 and 13 years of experience! Isn’t it amazing? One year ago I was working for a company, dissatisfied, and still searching, and here I am today working for a hospital, satisfied and no longer searching. How quickly it has changed all from one class! Thank you again for your great program and wonderful support. Kathy

Thank you so much for writing back. I was at the AAMT conference in Missouri this weekend and just got home. I appreciate the referrals. I hope that LauraLee calls me. I would appreciate any referrals you would provide. We are getting very, very busy and I have over 200 MTs now and we will double by the end of the year. We have gotten some very big accounts in the past couple of weeks and have already gone live with them - I am very grateful they are internet based accounts and we do not have to worry about the MTs having Laniers or C-phones. I really appreciate your time and consideration and I hope we get to see each other soon. Do you think you will be going to the AAMT meeting in San Antonio or Hawaii this year?? Ok - I read that you have some conflicting engagements - what a shame. It would have been wonderful to see you again. We will be attending and if you are going - I really wished that we could have met. I would really have loved to sit and talk with you and get to know you better. I think that we would be able to work something out between us and and get some of these really good MTs working I have met some good contacts from OSI and some other companies as well. It would be very interesting to get us all together and see where things go. I hope that eventually we will get together again.
Take care.

Thank you for the letter of recommendation, I had it added to my personnel file at work. I am pretty excited because in November I will have the opportunity to move up to a level II Transcriptionist at work. This will be predicated upon the quality and quantity of my work as well as how well I work with others. My supervisor has let me know that my quality is there, I am working well with my coworkers, and the other departments have no complaints about my reports; so at this point it is just a matter of my quantity. I have been working on that for the past 2-1/2 weeks and have been able to increase my line count by 100-150 lines per hour just by reducing the amount of backspacing I do (pulling the wagon instead of pushing it!) and by replanning my day resulting in a gain of an extra 20-30 minutes of typing! I will readily reach the quantity goal. This change in levels will gain me a healthy pay increase! I have attached a letter that you are more than welcome to add to your letters of recommendation. Also, please feel free to give my email address to those who would like to contact me as a reference. Thanks,

Just wanted to touch base with you and let you know what's going on. About two weeks ago when you suggested that I call the services in the phone book. I did that and got two really hot responses and faxed my resume to about four others as well. Sam's Transcription hired me immediately and by that Thursday, I was picking up tapes and working. The transcription for Sam's is about 5 hrs a day for drs who do IME's and workers comp medical evals. Very long reports. Not really good money makers, but good experience. By the way, thank you for the good reference with Penny Valentine of Valentine's Transcription. I've been talking with her for two weeks. She told me on the phone after looking at my resume and talking with you that she wanted to hire me part time. She really wanted me full time, but I said only 5 hrs a day because you have to be online from 8 am - 5 pm and if I take that prime time to be on line, then I have no time for marketing my own business, which is my primary goal. My goal is very clear--I need to make some money now, but my own clients is what I want and to build my own business, not someone else's. I'm continuing to follow your suggestions. I sent out my 4th of July postcards yesterday to everyone on my list--about 100 offices now, and I'm just trying to cultivate some of those into clients. It just takes time. Again, thanks so much for all your help. Let's stay in touch. Suzy March 28, 2003 I completed your course a few years back and even took your seminar on how to run a medical transcription business and IT WORKED. BUT I am in desperate need of medical transcriptionists in the Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, and maybe even Tempe area for tape accounts. In the beginning I contacted you and you were able to give me some leads on people that had taken your course and just completed it and it worked out very well. I still have two of them working for me now. I was wondering if you still offer this service or if you have any advice on how to find qualified medical transcriptionists. I have no problem finding them elsewhere. I don't like to put ads in the paper because I tend to get more people that want to know how to do medical transcription and then I refer them to you! Thanks for your help,
December 26, 2002 Thanks so much for the set of Santa coffee mugs. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness. I also appreciate the chance you’ve given me to get started in the transcription world. I know it’s normally very hard for newbies to be given a chance. You gave me a very good account to start out with since I also have a full time job. They’re easy to get along with, don’t have a ton of dictation, and yet it’s enough to get my feet wet and get some experience. I’m looking forward to the time when I can retire from my regular job and transcribe more. Jyl Richardson who had the account before me has befriended me and is mentoring me. I was really amazed that she’d make the effort. I guess she’s just a good-hearted person, because she certainly wasn’t obligated to help me, I know. I bought a new faster computer this past week, and she’s coming over this weekend to help me get it set up (since I’m kind of computer-challenged.). But I’m learning real fast. Right now with the transcription, I’m not trying for speed—just accuracy. I hope you and yours had a real nice Xmas, and I wish you all the best for the coming new year! Thanks again for giving me a chance! Sally |
